Opportunity to join ILCA World Council as Treasurer

The ILCA World Council seeks a volunteer Treasurer to provide independent financial oversight and governance support. Our long-standing Treasurer, Nick Page, will step down at the end of 2026, and ILCA is recruiting now to ensure a structured handover and continuity of strong financial oversight.

The Treasurer supports the World Council and the Class by providing financial leadership and guidance, with a focus on best-practice financial governance and continued financial security for ILCA. The ILCA Treasurer is a non-voting advisory member of the ILCA World Council.

Day-to-day financial administration is handled by the ILCA International Office staff; the Treasurer’s role is to provide oversight of ILCA’s finances and help ensure robust financial controls, transparency, statutory compliance, and clear reporting to support effective, evidence-based decision-making by the World Council.

Working closely with ILCA staff, the Treasurer contributes to annual budgeting and financial reporting, long-term planning, investment oversight, audit/review processes, and (as applicable) fundraising initiatives. Beyond financial expertise, the Treasurer is expected to bring strategic insight and input to the broader business of the World Council, ideally informed by a background in competitive ILCA sailing or sailing administration. Experience with commercial contracts and licensing arrangements will also be valuable.

This is an opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to one of the world’s leading sailing classes and to help safeguard its long-term sustainability.

Essential requirements for this voluntary role are relevant business, accounting, or finance experience and fluency in written and spoken English. If interested, please send a CV and a short covering letter to President@ilcasailing.org.
