Kiel-Schilksee, Germany – With anticipation building ahead of the final day of racing, the 2025 ILCA 6 Men’s World Championship stepped into high gear on Day 4 in Kiel-Schilksee. Under challenging but manageable conditions, the Gold Fleet managed to complete one crucial race, setting the stage for a dramatic conclusion on Wednesday.
Italian in Control – But Not Without Risk
Italy’s Alessandro Cirinei continues to assert his dominance. A second-place finish today further solidified his standing, giving him a commanding 24-point lead over Ukraine’s Semen Khashchyna, who holds second place. Just four points behind Khashchyna sits another Italian contender, Nicolo Giuseppe Cassitta, ensuring Italy’s strong presence in the title race.
However, Cirinei’s path to the world title is not without uncertainty. A Did Not Finish (DNF) from the first day still looms on his scorecard. With that result currently serving as his sole discard, any major error on the final day could severely impact his title hopes. A second non-finish or disqualification would count toward his final score—a risk he must carefully manage.
