Formia, Italy – 23 September 2025
The second day of racing of the 2025 ILCA Master World Championships was marked by patience and perseverance, both ashore and on the water. The morning began under calm skies, with the race committee and sailors hoping that conditions would improve throughout the day.
After hours of waiting, at 15:30 the fleets were sent out to sea in the hope of starting racing as soon as the expected breeze arrived. Athletes and coaches spent time on the water, but the light wind proved unstable and insufficient to guarantee a fair competition.
Despite the committee’s best efforts, at 17:00 the decision was made to cancel racing for the day. No valid races were completed, and the standings remain unchanged.
Tomorrow the focus shifts once again to the weather forecast, with everyone eager to finally get the series underway.
