Exciting Start to the 2025 ILCA Master Worlds in Italy

2025 ILCA Master Worlds day 1

Formia, Italy – 22 September 2025

Racing is officially underway at the 2025 ILCA Master World Championships in Formia, Italy. After yesterday’s practice race and Opening Ceremony, the fleets took to the water today for the first two races of the championship.

Despite light conditions with winds peaking at 8 knots, all three courses – Alpha, Bravo, and Charlie – successfully completed two races each. The first warning signal was given at 14:00, and by 17:00 the fleets were back ashore after an afternoon of tactical racing in the Gulf of Formia.

The day concluded with the traditional pasta party, where all 445 sailors from 38 nations gathered to share stories and enjoy a relaxed evening together. With the atmosphere high and competition already building on the water, the championship is off to a promising start.
