The 2025 ILCA 4 Youth Worlds Are Officially Underway!

opening ceremony ILCA 4 Youth Worlds 2025

Yesterday marked the final day of preparations before the racing officially kicks off at the 2025 ILCA 4 Youth World Championships!

Sailors spent the day wrapping up measurement and registration before heading out on the water for one last tune-up during the official practice race, expertly hosted by the Race Committee. Despite light winds and a lingering haze holding the breeze back, competitors still managed to get valuable time on the course in 5–7 knots of wind. Forecasts suggest the wind will pick up as the week progresses—promising exciting conditions ahead!

As the sun began to set, energy shifted to celebration with the Parade of Flags and Opening Ceremony. With over 200 sailors from more than 30 countries, the spectacle was nothing short of inspiring. Athletes proudly carried their national flags, uniting in color and spirit as they prepared to compete on the world stage.

Today, the racing begins. The first warning signal is scheduled for 13:00—stay tuned as the action gets underway!
